What makes you say that, anything particular?
Well, he's told Mike and at least one other recruiting analyst that he's planning to OV the Hill. He said a ton of positive stuff about SU to Mike. Just my own personal sense, I have no inside info!

Sounds good to me. Estrella seems like he's moved away from SU. He posted a video today that shows five teams recruiting him and we weren't one of them or mentioned in the post. Love Cooper and Gaspare but I'm not sure we have a strong chance with them, hopefully we still have a chance.

He did tell Mike a few weeks ago that SU was ramping up its recruitment of him, but I believe he's got OVs set up to Marquette and Tenn., per 247S. Duke offering would be rough, and I think 'Nova, UNC and Kansas are showing interest. I think if SU doesn't get an OV, that's a tell-tale sign, but Mike would know best!

New rankings just released. I’m very happy to see none of our guys have blown up so much that our chances of getting a commitment have become a lot tougher.

Cooper, Griffiths, and Ducharme are listed here. I lIke Griffiths as a wing shooter/scorer a lot more than Ducharme, but I haven’t seen anything lately to indicate we have a good chance with him. We are involved with the right kind of players, hope we can get a few of them.

Looks like most of our offerees are in the top 150, with a couple exceptions, and the majority of them are in the top 75. Looks to me like Estrella made the biggest jump from #166 to #67 and a couple had some fairly big drops, like Ducharme from #92 to #120 and Kante from 115 to #143. If I search Syracuse 2023 offers on 247, it looks like it has not been updated to reflect all our offers, like Gapare, Cooper, & Jackson (or to reflect the latest ranking). Those three were ranked in the #47 (Gapare) to #67 (Jackson) range.

Or does that tell you we aren’t working at a high enough level in enough cases?

I don’t know what you’re talking about. We’ve been involved with and maybe offered four of the top ten players and numerous others in the top fifty. If we are no longer actively involved with them it probably was the choice of the player, not us.

Well I guess that’s what I’m worried about. I’m not convinced we are in a good place with ANY of the Top 75 range kids. So it’s fine that they got an unofficial here, or an offer there. But Mintz not withstanding, I still worry about our ability to deliver the sort of class SU needs year in and out.

Yep, our brand is not what it was because we haven’t won enough in recent years. And we don’t have big NIL packages available.

You’re right, but NIL, portal, and the OTE type leagues changed the game.

International recruiting is so so important, identifying those kids early. Gapare was unknown out of New Zealand when he originally committed to GW, now he’s too 50.

Matteo Visintin and Dragos Lungu are two international guards we should look at for 23. Marouf Moumine just came over to the US late last year.

But those are right now problems. And my fear of SU’s ability to adapt is a whole other thing. Lol. There’s been a decline and inability to get in with big time kids for a while…and I worry about that old school (by definition of what’s “new”) ability to compete recruiting.
