Do we reach out? Ive heard our coaches would only take another guy if he fell in our lap. Does Akok count as that type of player lol?
We should 1000 percent reach out. He’s had injury issues but he was built for the zone.Do we reach out? Ive heard our coaches would only take another guy if he fell in our lap. Does Akok count as that type of player lol?
This is so frustrating to me (not you personally Mike), just the philosophy.Still has to be a scholarship available. I don’t envision Syracuse kicking someone out. Even if they miss on Ballard, not someone I’d imagine they’d pursue. Again, they told recruits they’d be coming in with the opportunity to play. That Jimmy and Buddy and Cole were all leaving. If Cole elected to stay that’s one thing, but going to the portal for a forward that hasn’t done much of anything since he’s gotten to college not only starts the incoming players feeling as if you’ve lied to them (and could cause one or more to leave) but also I’m not sure it adds much value to the roster.
Boeheim is showing a lot of confidence in this incoming class. I think he likes the idea of doing more experimenting with different lineup combinations because we have more multiposition and athletic guys than recently. Besides Taylor playing some forward, maybe he sometimes plays three guards with Copeland in the back of the zone. Or maybe even Symir in the back of the zone occasionally with Girard and Mintz, 6’3”, 6’3”, 6’1”. Could also go big with Brown or even Bol alongside Benny. The lineup and rotations should be less rigid than recently.Still has to be a scholarship available. I don’t envision Syracuse kicking someone out. Is he though? I’m just not sure that’s even what it is. He’s so stuck in his own ways I’m not even sure what he’s thinking. Having donated scholarships on the roster is painful. That shouldn’t impact the incoming kids, and I find it hard to believe Boeheim suddenly cares about feelings. If he/they don’t think a kid is good enough that’s one thing.
