Basketball Team Leader

Mike,
it doesn’t look like Judah plans To return to SU. If he doesn’t return, who do you think will be the team leader on and off the court? The upper class guys Joe, Jesse and Symir are gone and It is a young team with players who have a potentially huge upside not to mention a new HC, a new coaching philosophy and style of play. Successful teams usually have the one or two guys that set the tone for off season workouts, Practice etc. If by some chance Judah does return everyone will follow his lead but if not do you have any thoughts or insights?

Don’t underestimate JJ in that role. Also, this will be Benny’s third year, and Naheem McLeod isn’t exactly a spring chicken. I think it’ll be one of those guys if I had to guess.

I wouldn't sleep on Kyle Cuffe becoming a leader pretty quickly, filling a role similar to Symir in that regard. He's a little older (going into his third year of college but he enrolled early, but still), was a member of a national championship team (even if he was redshirting at the time), and by all accounts is a fantastic dude off the court. Perusing the Kansas message boards, the consensus was that it hurt losing him because he's a classy kid and a great locker room guy.
