There are not too many games where Edwards can go scoreless and Buddy can have a bad shooting game, yet we pull out a win. Credit to Swider for a great game, Joe for a terrific 2nd half, and Anselem for giving us solid minutes with Jesse out.

Have we seen the last of Sidibe this season? Is he healthy now or just rusty? Is he eligible to be a grad transfer if he doesn’t play more this season? Could that be why he isn’t playing?

Buddy was 6-19 with zero assists. Too much dribbling. Ball movement was more like the first half of the season than recent games. Jesse looked like a raw freshman instead of the player he’s been all season, maybe going against a fellow countryman got in his head. Joe was the bad Joe in the first half. Yet we won on the road.

Swider has become the player we hoped he would be. Confident, not anxious. No more line drives off the front rim.

I’ve been thinking we might need to bring in two scorers from the portal. I would be very happy if those two scorers were Cole Swider and Judah Mintz. I like a starting lineup of Girard, Mintz, Benny, Swider, and Jesse. Benny looks like he’s beginning to turn the corner. Playing a little more comfortable and stronger, even visibly looking stronger than earlier in the season. I think he makes a progression similar to Jeremie Grant, who went from 3ppg as a freshman to 12 his sophomore season.

Credit to new BC coach Earl Grant. He inherited a team with little offensive talent, yet BC scraps their way to being competitive most games.

I would be a big fan of that lineup.

Some random thoughts that don't have much to do with the game. Jim was furious with Jimmy on one 3 by BC where he hesitated running at the shooter. Never seen him take it to one of his sons like that before. But oddly good to see bc Jimmy's defense has been subpar.
Secondly, this was the most engaged I've seen Benny on the bench. Cheering for baskets and showing emotion like Frank usually does. Had me worried since his playing time is so down he usually doesn't seem so engaged but last night was different and hopefully better. Always worried in the back of my mind hes thinking transferring.

I think most or all of the time Benny was cheering was when he wasn’t shoehorned between Boeheim and Red. I’ve seen that in other games also. But he was more demonstrative than any game except maybe Wake.

I think Benny returning is almost a certainty. Doesn’t seem like the type of guy who would say he’s staying and then change his mind. Plus I don’t think it’s lost on players how much difficulty many transfers around the country are having. Even a vet like Swider has taken half a season to get comfortable with a new team.
