Chris played his best game of the year at the defensive end, by far. He was hustling and even battling the 7'4" guy underneath. A lot of times our zone had Jesse out to the foul line with Chris left to keep McCloud off the boards. Obviously he was overmatched most of the time but he was in there battling like he hasn't before. If he had hit some of his threes it probably would've been his best game of the year.

Chris also had three bad mental mistakes. In the first half with the shot clock winding down, he seemed unaware and after missing his earlier shots he passed up a three, instead passing it to Hima with his back to the basket 12-15 feet out and 2 seconds on the clock. Also bailed out FSU on offense once in the second half. After playing great defense for the possession he fouled with a couple seconds left. But can excuse that foul of being too aggressive. Need him and Benny active and live with the mistakes. Then the worst was taking a three when we should be running clock. Unfortunately for him he did it right in front of JB. But Chris played really well. I hope he realizes he needs a coach like JB. He had a players' coach last season and he was a very passive player.

It won't show in the box, but Benny played very well. He was active on defense. Cheering on the bench too. It's great to see it seems like his head is in the right place. Maybe he's lined up a school next season so he's happy, who knows. Box score showed Benny with two turnovers in the first half. I couldn't remember any. I think he was given them when Jesse butchered a couple of entry passes from Benny. Interesting to see Benny do a two-handed flush dunk. Maliq does that unflashy guaranteed dunk every single time. Benny often will go for the more spectacular emphatic one-handed dunk and back rim it.

Rest of the bench was out to lunch tonight. Sy, JT, and Mou all looked unfocused. JT's missed free throw late was pretty bad too, barely caught the front rim.

15-10. 16 wins is a guaranteed non-losing season. 17 wins is a guaranteed winning season. I think we can get 20+. Gotta beat NC State. We'll beat Duke. And surprise Clemson down there. Pitt will be very rough in their building. Thanks JB.

We can take one-game plus/minus totals with a grain of salt, but tonight's feels right. In 18 minutes Benny was plus 11, and it was deserved. We played better defense with him on the floor. The brief runs for Sy, JT, and Mou all show up in the plus minus with a bad negative number, and that seems deserved also.

Joe had 7 boards and Judah had 0. That seems by design. Earlier in the season Judah would drop down and pick up a few long defensive rebounds. Now it seems we want Joe to focus on that while Judah heads upcourt looking for an outlet pass. Despite the two missed dunks, Judah in the open court and in attack mode is fun to watch and very tough to stop.

I think you’re absolutely right about Benny and I’m glad you pointed out the +/-. He was solid, which was nice to see.
