Mike, what is your assessment of the impact this will have on helping players and attracting recruits in terms of benefiting from NIL rules? The right approach? Far enough or just a start?

Good start and definitely unique. I actually think Syracuse does a good job post enrollment with NIL support for student-athletes. Providing them information, connecting them with potential business partners, things like this with the SU logo, etc. It’s the NIL offers during recruitment that other schools are doing Syracuse is not. It’s technically against the rules but some question the NCAA’s ability to enforce it. So I get why some may be hesitant.

I like what Chris Elmore is doing. I’m not in favor of bribing recruits with NIL offers, even if others are doing it. I think it ruins college sports, not to mention it is against the “rules”, even though they may or may not be enforceable. I think Syracuse is taking the right approach, although maybe they could better present NIL opportunities to recruits before they commit.
