You are right, if I am not mistaken the win against NC State last year was our only win against a ranked team in the last 4.5 years. Even the 10 win team in 2018 didn’t beat a ranked team until our bowl game. The good news is the last 5 games this year are very winnable and we better win at least 3 of them, hopefully more. We are good at beating bad and blah teamsthats what you call an embarrassing game. The offense was terrible and the defense was the on the field the entire game. Unc is a very good team but cuse don't beat good teams anymore.
Their receivers can’t do anything to help him out. For me, I just think they’re really, really handcuffed on what they’d like to run because of that position group. The OL isn’t good, but it’s not as big of a problem. They were not ready to play and its happening way to much. Shrader can't do anything against good teams.
Don’t be sorry, it was a pathetic effort yesterday. The Clemson game was frustrating because we were sloppy but we played hard, it looked like we didn’t even show up yesterday, or at best we folded like a tent after the blocked punt. Which was a terrible call but how about when we block a punt we don’t allow a freaking punter to advance it 16 yards in the first place? Or how about we don’t let that destroy us? Next week is going to be ugly, and if we don’t win at least 3 of our last 5 very winnable games, Babers has to go.I’m still stunned. We really were a no show pretty much. Some of the veterans have to step up- guys like Alford, Shrader, Okechukwu. We can’t have any more games where we have a sluggish start and get down 14-0 or 17-0. Our first few drives on offense are terrible. Didn’t like the play calling either. How does Alford go a whole game with no catches? How does Hatcher have no catches for a game and a half and then 5 or 6 in one quarter? The defense was shocking. What happened to The Mob? Seems like our CBs and DBs were exposed and were playing back too much. Bellamy played for Wilson- did he beat him out or was Wilson hurt? We couldn’t get a decent rush either. It did seem like Barron was all over the field. Clark played pretty well, I thought, and was all over the field except on the one play where he missed the interception and the receiver took it to the house. Really hope we can regroup, if not for FSU, then for the rest of our games after the bye. Sorry for the rant. Frustrating.
Why wouldn’t Alford go a game without a catch? Since when is this new? He is what he is….a 5th receiver (at best) on a good team, forced to be much more here. I’m not sure how many games and years it takes for us to accept what some of these kids are. Just like defensively…we can’t pretend it’s a good thing to be as small as we are. That wears a team out over time. The impact of injuries is huge. When they play teams that good, they have to play great, and they certainly did not. They SHOULD still get 8 wins. Which would be amazing. Get through FSU being competitive and healthy (or no less healthy), take the perfectly timed bye week, and handle business from there on out.I’m still stunned.
