A few quick notes here.

Took my oldest son to the game, first time I have seen Cuse football live in many years, still think we have a special fan base.

Spoke to a sibling of a current basketball player, they were decked out in what looked like official Cuse basketball gear so I immediately went over to them and we chatted for a few minutes. Said the Weitsman offer to “a top guard” was legit. Said the uncertainty of who the future coach is is killing our recruiting and that the coaches are already talking the about the transfer portal.

With regards to football, thank g0d we brought in the OL transfers and juco, Shrader was running for his life a lot. Also glad we brought in that punter, special teams was embarrassing.

We need WR talent, they should bring in a WR2 from the portal.

Laquint Allen has potential, played really well, kept waiting for him to put it in second gear and break away which he really didn’t but he can play. Not sure who else is on the rb depth chart but hope he stays healthy, the James kid didn’t seem to be effective.

Kayvon Darton is a beast, undersized but gotta love him.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy new year.

Some takeaways from the game to promote further discussion:

-Great effort by the Orange despite losing so many key players to transfer, NFL, injury, etc. Future looks promising with so many young talented players.

-Kadin Bailey looks like he will be a great one! Quan Peterson played well, too. Some good young talent on the DL with Jobity, Geer, Fuentes-Cundiff, Jaquez, etc.

-Surprised we didn’t try to target Hatcher more. It would have been good prep for next year. Didn’t see as much of Mang in this game. Villari got more of a run, but wasn’t targeted much if at all. Wonder if the Wes Hoeh experiment is over? Sparrow & Roon were out- assume injuries, hopefully not serious.

-We certainly had more yards offensively than Minnesota, but I wouldn’t say it was one of Shrader’s best games. Was it me or did his throwing motion seem off? Seemed like he shortarmed a lot of throws and didn’t have as much on some throws. Looked more like the 2021 Shrader instead of the Shrader we had at the beginning of the season. Can’t complain too much with the yards we gained, but wondered if he had some kind of arm injury in addition to the foot injury earlier in the year.

-Surprised Wax only had two tackles and Okechukwu one. Uncharacteristic for both. Definitely need improved punting. Hurt us badly. Stackhouse was a welcome scholarship addition. Hope we have someone to fill Syzmt’s shoes.

Great posts by you guys. Question: When Minnesota had 12 defenders on the field and the ref's missed it. Why did the horse collar penalty even come into play? The fumble and return should have not have even happened. I don't understand the offsetting penalties on the play. SU should have got a 5 yard for the penalty and a first down. What am I missing? Thanks
