That’s awesome Mike, glad you got to go and enjoy the game with your dad. I thought it was a terrible decision to kick that FG, maybe the worse decision I have seen from him. I just think AS has been struggling way to much in order for him to make a 48 yard field goal. I also thought the play calling was bad. But I would of had no problem with him trying Tommy. He was willing to go to Tommy against UNC and Garrett is not Dungey. I just Tommy might of pushed those safety’s back and would of given Tucker more room because at the end the safetys we’re getting him at the line. That’s crazy. They didn’t respect GS at all and for good reason, he did not look good.

Remember though when Dino went to DeVito against UNC, Dungey had struggled the previous two games as well (3 INTs to just 1 TD, 55% completion). So this was game 3 of struggles. The offense under Shrader hadn’t had this much of an issue moving the ball until this game. I’d let him play though it. If 2 games from now the offense is still sputtering, then I’d consider it.

I don't get the play calling. Shrader ran for 100 yards last 2 games and this game he barely ran at all. I just think Dino has done the best he can and its time to move on. He used to he in every play yelling, now he just sits there and smiles. The play not to go for it on 4th and 1 was just awful. Do you play to win?

Glad you got to see the game in person with your Dad, Mike. It’s a special bond between father & son anyway, but when you can get to enjoy watching a team you both love in person, then that makes it just even more special.

So disappointing to see another close loss in a game you felt we could have/should have won. It just seems whatever strings Dino is pulling aren’t working right now. It seems like Clemson made adjustments at the half (primarily to stop Tucker) and we didn’t. You have to have a 4th and 1 play you can hang your hat on and you have to know your kicker’s capabilities based upon percentages made in practice. Having said that, the hold was not good with the laces facing the kicker.

I did wonder if DeVito’s accurate throwing arm might have saved this game for us. Shrader is our guy, but his accuracy was off and throws inconsistent. He threw behind receivers quite a bit. Why not give Tommy one or two series to see if it clicks? It seems like we couldn’t come up with any adjustments to break Schrader open on a big run. He was good at escaping pressure and getting the ball downfield, but the accuracy just wasn’t there.
