What is Syracuse basketball getting in new commit William Patterson? We spoke to New Heights Director Rahme Anderson to find out.

Good interview. Patterson said in an interview just posted by 247 that Jesse's development played an important role in deciding on Syracuse. I'm fine with getting him. He's another long-term investment that might not pay off or could be a very pleasant surprise down the road.

Now that it’s a reality, I’m just, not fine with it. This isn’t a roster stacked with NBA players where they can be patient and get return in a couple years, and they REALLY can’t whiff. And Mike’s likely very well informed sense they won’t pursue a big in the portal? It’s really frustrating. There’s a real possibility that next years scholarship players could consist of 25% project centers. At least our coach is young and has time to build long term….

One concern I have is that Patterson seems like a zone center. He's a couple years from ever being a contributor. We're still going to be playing zone? If Red, Gerry, or Hopkins are the hire and they stay with the zone, they better be successful right away or they might be run out of town.
