Things are going rough for Benny. He may have had enough of Boeheim. He seemed to get really pissed when he was yanked in the second half, not sure what for. He was yanked in the first half after getting stripped.
It’s become painfully obvious that we need Maliq on the floor. But that doesn’t necessarily have to be at Benny’s expense. Maybe we could start Benny at the three. The two together is probably our best lineup on the defensive end. Justin plays the zone well, but he’s a bit overmatched as a forward rebounding and defending around the basket.
Maliq seems like the veteran who just knows what to do and is consistent, while Benny is the up and down younger guy. Benny’s had about four really good games and the rest have been mediocre to poor. Maliq is going to give us the same thing every game, and it’s what we’ve needed. Besides the rebounding, he’s always around the ball and his hands are a weapon on defense. He tips a lot of balls. Late in the game he just took the ball from a Va Tech guy on the perimeter.
